For Sufferers
If you may have an eating disorder, based on symptoms mentioned in the section Eating Disorders, your first step would be to get an appointment with your family doctor. Come prepared with a list of your concerns. Explain what you are dealing with, and seek a referral to a treatment centre nearby for assessment. This will involve a wait-list, and after that, possibly, a further wait-list for medical treatment of the disorder. Your family doctor will likely need to be in regular contact with you to monitor the various serious health concerns that these illnesses involve. The sooner you seek treatment, the less time it could take to recovery.
