All groups are delivered through the dedication of qualified volunteer facilitators.

Adult information monthly drop in
For newcomers to Danielle's Place, or those who have new questions or concerns and simply need an evening of guidance. This group is for anyone who has, or wonders if they might have an eating disorder. Run by an experienced facilitator, this support group allows individuals to ask all of their questions in a safe, supportive environment. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about what an eating disorder is and how to get help.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS monthly drop in

This information session offers a supportive environment for those who cope with the unique challenges of living with a family member or friend with an eating disorder. While attending, group participants have opportunities to share information on their weekly challenges and successes, ask questions, access community resources and learn skills to help them more effectively support their loved one. They will also receive tips and techniques for self care that may help during stressful times. This group is facilitated by an experienced therapist.


breaking the BINGE cycle

Over a period of six consecutive weeks, this semi-structured, closed group that provides individuals with opportunities to discover more about themselves and how their self perception affects their relationship with food. By becoming conscious of the triggers, people can achieve more healthful and mindful behaviours. The group is self directed under the guidance of an experienced facilitator.

EXPRESSIVE ART THERAPY (AVAILABLE FOR ADULTS OR YOUTH)

This group is for 8-10 individuals living with eating disorders, allowing them to participate in eight consecutive weekly sessions. Artistic experience is not necessary. Group members are invited to explore how art media is used to reflect something about their thoughts, feelings, and inner wisdom. Creating with freedom and curiosity can be therapeutic and healing. This group is facilitated by a certified Art Therapist or Art Therapy Students under the supervision of a certified Art Therapist.

ADULT REFLECTIONS GROUP

This is a ten week closed group offering individuals who restrict their food intake information, guidance and tools to assist them in achieving improved holistic health, regardless of where they are in their struggle with disordered eating. The key elements for this group have been adopted from the Youth Reflections Group and modified as age appropriate. The group is delivered by two experienced co-facilitators.

Youth Reflections Group

This is a ten week closed group offering teen’s information, guidance and tools to assist them in achieving improved holistic health, whether they are actively struggling with or in danger of acquiring an eating disorder. The curriculum for this group has been developed on well established best practices for adolescent education and empowerment. The group is delivered by two experienced co-facilitators.
