Eating Disorder Treatment Programs

Halton and Surrounding Area Eating Disorder Treatment Programs

Below is a list of local centres and hospitals that offer eating disorder treatment programs. This is not an exhaustive list and there is no ‘best’ program. You will need to research and review the programs to determine which is best suited to you and your needs but here are some things to consider:

Is the program inpatient or outpatient?
What cost will you have to cover? Are there spots/beds in the program with total OHIP coverage that you could apply for?
What age of clients does the program serve?
What approach does the program take to help people with eating disorders? Are family members included?
Is there a BMI that you must be higher than to safely participate in the program?
What is the wait time? You may not be feeling ready but if you are seriously considering treatment it may be a good idea to submit your application early so you will have options in the future. Wait times can range from weeks to months to even years depending on the program and your funding situation.
Does the program have a step-down program to refer to once you have finished? (e.g., from inpatient to day treatment to outpatient groups or individual therapy?)
