Dove Confident Me

Confident Me workshop promotes positive self-esteem for youth, 13-17 years.

The workshop will run for 6 sessions. The goals of the nonclinical, Dove Self-Esteem Project: Confident Me is for youth to increase self-esteem, develop a positive personal body image, and to learn necessary skills for a healthy lifestyle. Individuals interested in volunteering with this program must;

  • Be over the age of 18
  • Commit to facilitating/co-facilitating an entire 6-week program
  • Attend an interview and training session, as well as provide a police check and references
  • Be willing to work as a team with the other facilitators/staff

Free Being Me Volunteer

The Free Being Me Program supports girls between the ages of 8-12 and runs for 10-weeks twice a year (Fall/Winter).

The goals of Free Being Me are to increase self-esteem, motivate interaction with peers, develop positive body image and work on developing healthy relationships with others. It is our hope that through this program, more females will understand the importance of a positive self-image and learn life skills necessary for healthy relationships. Individuals interested in volunteering with this program must;

  • Be over the age of 16
  • Commit to facilitating/co-facilitating an entire 10-week program
  • Attend an interview and training session, as well as provide a police check and references
  • Be willing to work as a team with the other facilitators/staff

ROCK Crew Facilitator

Supports males between the ages of 13-18.

A 9-week program that aims to, through social interactions, a sense of personal worth for participants. Social activities will be determined by the group members and the leaders. Activities may include, board games, video games, movies, escape rooms, and laser tag. Individuals interested in volunteering with this program must;

  • Be over the age of 18
  • Identify as a male
  • Commit to 9 consecutive Sunday afternoons
  • Attend an interview and training session, as well as provide a police check and references
  • Will work with facilitators/staff/clients to provide a safe and welcoming environment

Advisory Committee Member

Role: Attend quarterly advisory meetings and other events/functions (as requested).

Review agenda and supporting materials prior to meetings. Be informed about the programs, it’s clients, curriculum, services/supports, activities and be prepared to inform others. Provide support and advice to programs, assist in the development of new programs and identify best practice standards. Serve as an ambassador and advocate to the program, providing a connection to and ongoing exchange of information and ideas with professionals in the field, community members and other external contacts. Work collaboratively with Program Coordinator and Manager of Community and Youth Development to ensure that all programs are delivering content that is up-to-date, inclusive and relevant to its clients. Assist with program education and promotion. Assist in the identification and recruitment of new committee members. Provide recommendations for presentation topics at advisory committee meetings.

  • Be between the ages of 16-25
  • Attend Interview
  • Will work with facilitators/staff/clients to provide a safe and welcoming environment
