Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering with Danielle’s Place is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience working with youth in a group setting. Our volunteer opportunities are a perfect fit for individuals who are dedicated, outgoing and have a strong passion for working with youth. Below are the volunteer opportunities available with Danielle’s Place. Have a look!

Confident Me workshop promotes positive self-esteem for youth, 13-16 years. The workshop will run for 8 sessions. The goals of the non-clinical, Dove Self-Esteem Project: Confident Me is for youth to increase self-esteem, develop a positive personal body image, and to learn necessary skills for a healthy lifestyle. Individuals interested in volunteering with this program must;
  • Be over the age of 18
  • Commit to facilitating/co-facilitating an entire 8-week program
  • Attend an interview and training session, as well as provide a police check and references
  • Be willing to work as a team with the other facilitators/staff
The Girl Talk Program supports girls between the ages of 9-13 and runs for 10-weeks twice a year (Fall/Winter). The goals of Girl Talk are to increase self-esteem, motivate interaction with peers, develop positive body image and work on developing healthy relationships with others. It is our hope that through this program, more females will understand the importance of a positive self-image and learn life skills necessary for healthy relationships. Individuals interested in volunteering with this program must;
  • Be over the age of 16
  • Commit to facilitating/co-facilitating an entire 10-week program
  • Attend an interview and training session, as well as provide a police check and references
  • Be willing to work as a team with other facilitators/staff
Supporting youth at Danielle’s Place through monthly drop-ins, help to set up the space for workshops/events, help with community outreach events and more. Individuals interested in volunteering with this program must;
  • Be over the age of 18
  • Will commit to the program for one year
  • Will come out to at least 6 events when called upon
  • Will work with facilitators/staff/clients to provide a safe and welcoming environment
  • Attend an interview and training session, as well as provide a police check and references
Supports males between the ages of 13-18. A 10-week program that aims to, through social interactions, a sense of personal worth for participants. Social activities will be determined by the group members and the leaders. Activities may include, board games, video games, movies, escape rooms, and laser tag. Individuals interested in volunteering with this program must;
  • Be over the age of 18
  • Identify as male
  • Commit to 10 consecutive Sunday afternoons
  • Attend an interview and training session, as well as provide a police check and references
  • Will work with facilitators/staff/clients to provide a safe and welcoming environment
